2017 Aug Grand Circle 2 St. George and Zion
Our first park on the RV tour was Zion. We rode a tram along the road in the base of the canyon.
Most photographed tree in Zion, so had to take the picture.
Next few pictures are of the Weeping Wall in Zion. It was a little steep to get there, but well worth the hike. We did get a little wet. The wall was weeping pretty good.
Below is the lodge at Zion. Our group ate our lunch on the lawn here.
Silver Reef is a ghost town North of St. George. Silver was discovered in the late 1800's. Overnight the town grew to 1500. When the silver was all mined, the town disappeared.
Near Silver Reef, we saw these wild peacocks and the rabbit.
Again just North of St. George, is Snow Canyon. Looked like a painting.
Very nice winter home for Brigham and his wives. His main residence was in Salt Lake City, but he hated the snow and cold, so came to St. George in the winter. Primarily to watch the Temple as it was constructed.
Brigham Young and Sister Anderson tried to convert Cliff to Mormonism, but to no avail. He did get in a very lively conversation with Sister Anderson about the Mormon doctrine. She took it very well.
Overlooking St. George, Utah. Mormon temple is lit up at night.
