2017 Sep Grand Circle 12 Lake Powell

A beautiful photo above from our campsite in Monument Valley. Misplaced but it needed to be here just to show you all the beauty that we have experienced this trip.

We saw the people on the dam when we first arrived at the Lake Powell Welcome Center and immediately went into the center and signed up for the next available tour. Well worth the wait.

There are people working on the underside of this bridge. If you look closely at the bridge pictures you can see them. I would not be one of these people!!!
The tour of the dam was well done and we got to see a lot.

We were treated to a harrowing ride in the back of a truck pictured in one of following photo to Slot Canyon or Antelope Canyon. As you can see by the photos below it was a treat you do not want to miss if you are ever in this area.

I did not go on the long boat trip so I am able to experience the beauty of this day with all of you through Linda's wonderful photography. I know that I feel blessed to view her photos and hope that all of you do also.

This is Rainbow Arch. It was a hike from the dock where the boat moored. Thank you Linda for doing the hike and getting these memories for all of us.

This gas station was about half way from the dam to Rainbow Arch a 2/15 hour ride.  There are a lot of house boats on Lake Powell that need to gas up here at the price of $6 a gallon. Conveniently, they also had a deli and ice cream shop which most on our boat took advantage of.

Our boat captain challenged us to find the steps on this cliff above.  They were chiseled out during the late 1800's by the miners in the area.  The captain finally drove the boat close enough to the cliff to spot the steps.
