2017 Sep Grand Circle 10 Durango
Our campground was in Durango CO. We had a bus tour to the town of Silverton CO which took us up 2000 ft. This was an old mining town that is now a tourist area. Beautiful and interesting. We had lunch at Handlebars. The interior of the restaurant is shown below.
The pictures above are all in the town of Silverton.
We then boarded a train for the two and a half hours back down to Durango. Linda and I soon discovered that it was better traveling on the 'open' car and we promptly moved to the forward most of those cars. Good choice! However, at the end of the ride we were covered with soot and had to air out the clothes we were wearing.
As you can see by the pictures below it was an exciting ride.
